About Nicholas van Haalen

Nicholas van Haalen is the Vice President of Operations for Apprise, based out of Rotterdam, Netherlands. In his role, he focuses on strategy and business planning, business performance management, employee engagement and operational excellence for Apprise, a Walker & Dunlop company. Mr. Van Haalen has also served as the Vice President of Business Development for GeoPhy, shortly after it was acquired by Walker & Dunlop.

Prior to Walker & Dunlop, Mr. Van Haalen worked to accelerate the Dutch Postal Service's Financial and Digital Transformation, as Senior Project Leader for PostNL, a mail, parcel, and e-commerce corporation in the Netherlands. Before that, he worked at Royal IHC, a highly specialized shipbuilding company, overseeing up to $70 million in annual expenses as Business Controller, after two and a half years of driving the company-wide transformation program, both in a Managerial capacity and as a Business Analyst.

Mr. Van Haalen earned his bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and his master’s degree in Offshore and Dredging Engineering from Delft University of Technology and started his career as lifecycle engineer in April 2017.
