About Cody Nix, MAI
Cody Nix is Managing Director of the Southwest region for Apprise, by Walker & Dunlop. Apprise employs industry-leading data analytics and valuation software that allows its appraisers to more efficiently and consistently apply valuation methods in truly objective appraisals.
Mr. Nix is a veteran real estate appraiser with significant experience in appraisal writing and review. His knowledge of the entire commercial property spectrum is a product of an extensive background in a variety of property types, including market-rate apartments, townhome development, subdivisions, light and heavy manufacturing, distribution centers, industrial warehouses, garden offices, mid-rise offices, neighborhood strip centers, regional power centers, limited-service and full-service hospitality, and self-service, express, full-service car washes. Mr. Nix has directly overseen the completion of more than 4,000 commercial/multifamily valuation assignments for various federally related lending transactions. He is well-versed in the appraisal and reporting requirements set forth in USPAP and FIRREA and is a designated member of the Appraisal Institute.
Before joining Apprise, Mr. Nix was Managing Director of the Southwest region for The Multifamily Advisory (MFA), a semi-national real estate appraisal firm with industry-leading expertise in the multi-housing sector. Previously, he served as Managing Director of Lowery Property Advisors, where he directed all aspects of appraisal production, review, and compliance. Based in the company’s home office in North Texas, he also directed the firm’s satellite offices in San Antonio and Houston and has properties in multiple states. As Managing Director, Mr. Nix reviewed 25-30 appraisals weekly, covering nearly every commercial and multifamily property type. Mr. Nix led LPA’s management team and oversaw the entire appraisal process for three separate production teams. Mr. Nix was integral to directional decisions including hiring, marketing, relationship management, strategy, policy, and process innovation.
